More and more reports of robberies are coming up in the news. Please elect a new mayor of London who will fix the crime problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Natwest in Finchley broken into<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A gang of three robbers who posed as customers carrying out a routine withdrawal at a <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2022\/01\/21\/thieves-who-blew-up-atms-in-essex-and-london-jailed-15956138\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2022\/01\/21\/thieves-who-blew-up-atms-in-essex-and-london-jailed-15956138\/\">north London cashpoint<\/a> escaped with \u00a333,000 in the early hours of Monday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The robbery took place just after 4am at a <a href=\"https:\/\/bankopeningtimes.org\/natwest-branch-in-north-finchley\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/bankopeningtimes.org\/natwest-branch-in-north-finchley\">NatWest bank<\/a> on High Road in Finchley. The suspects had already disabled CCTV cameras in the area and made sure there were no passers-by before they struck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shaunforlondon.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/london-atm-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-39\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.shaunforlondon.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/london-atm-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.shaunforlondon.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/london-atm-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.shaunforlondon.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/london-atm-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.shaunforlondon.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/london-atm-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.shaunforlondon.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/london-atm-2048x1365.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.shaunforlondon.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/london-atm-1600x1067.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/www.shaunforlondon.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/london-atm-780x520.jpg 780w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Two of the gang members directly threatened staff inside the branch while another waited outside acting as lookout. One member of staff was ordered to open the safe while another emptied cash machines into bags. One witness described hearing &#8220;commotion and shouting&#8221; during the raid which lasted around five minutes, adding that it sounded like &#8220;a lot more than one person&#8221;. No arrests have been made yet but police are investigating whether this is linked to other recent raids using similar methods across London<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>\u00a311 million robbery in knightsbride<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In May of this year, a group of thieves in London made off with over \u00a31 million pounds after robbing a cashpoint machine. The robbers used two vehicles to block the security doors at the back of the building where the cashpoint was located. They then drilled into the ATM and attached a hose to it, which pumped out all of the money inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This type of robbery is becoming more and more common in major cities around Europe as criminals increasingly target ATMs instead of banks. This is due to several factors: first, banks have become much better at protecting their assets and making it difficult for criminals to break in; second, there is often less money kept on site at an ATM than there would be inside a bank vault; finally, many people now use cards rather than cash when they make purchases, so there are simply fewer opportunities for traditional bank robberies these days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"819\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shaunforlondon.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/natwest-finchley-819x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-40\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.shaunforlondon.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/natwest-finchley-819x1024.jpg 819w, https:\/\/www.shaunforlondon.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/natwest-finchley-240x300.jpg 240w, https:\/\/www.shaunforlondon.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/natwest-finchley-768x960.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.shaunforlondon.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/natwest-finchley-1229x1536.jpg 1229w, https:\/\/www.shaunforlondon.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/natwest-finchley-1638x2048.jpg 1638w, https:\/\/www.shaunforlondon.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/natwest-finchley-1600x2000.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/www.shaunforlondon.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/natwest-finchley-780x975.jpg 780w, https:\/\/www.shaunforlondon.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/natwest-finchley-scaled.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 819px) 100vw, 819px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityoflondon.police.uk\/cp\/crime-prevention\/personal-safety-how-to-stay-safe\/ATM-safety\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.cityoflondon.police.uk\/cp\/crime-prevention\/personal-safety-how-to-stay-safe\/ATM-safety\/\">police step up<\/a> their efforts to catch those responsible for this latest heist \u2013 which appears to have been planned very well in advance \u2013 ATM users across London (and indeed other cities) will be hoping that such brazen crimes can soon be put firmly in the past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>London West End Cashpoint robbed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the early hours of Saturday morning, a group of masked men stormed a cashpoint in <a href=\"https:\/\/southeasternrailway.co.uk\/destinations-and-offers\/popular-london-destinations\/west-end\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"southeasternrailway.co.uk\/destinations-and-offers\/popular-london-destinations\/west-end\">London West End<\/a>. The robbers threatened staff and customers with knives before making off with a large sum of money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is just the latest in a string of robberies that have hit London in recent weeks. A number of high-end stores and restaurants have been targeted, leading to concerns that the city is becoming increasingly unsafe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are several theories as to why these robberies are taking place. One possibility is that they are being carried out by criminal gangs who see London as an easy target due to its wealthy residents and tourists. Another theory is that those responsible are desperate for money amid rising living costs and austerity measures.
